ASCI’s man-made river channel (located at the top of Wisp Resort in Deep Creek Lake, MD) is the world’s only mountaintop whitewater course, and can be enjoyed by beginners, families and paddling enthusiasts. It will be open from May to October, 2011 for guided whitewater rafting, riverboarding, kayaking and more. The International Canoe Federation (ICF) has awarded the 2014 Canoe Slalom World Championships to Adventure Sports Center International (ASCI).  The event, to be held September 16-21, 2014, will mark the 25^th anniversary of the 1989 World Championships held on the Savage River in Garrett County and represents a return of world championship whitewater canoe and kayak racing to the United States for the first time since the 1989 event.

In 2012 Potomac Whitewater Racing Center members can enjoy three free days of paddling on the course, as well as a 10% discount on programs.
