Races were recently held to select the team to represent the USA at the 2012 Junior/U23 World Championships in Wausau, WI.

In men’s kayak, training partners Michael Rudnitsky, and Cole Moore, both 16 years old,  placed first and second both days.

In women’s kayak, 17 year old Anna Maria Ifarraguerri was fantastic and took first place overall each day!

In men’s C-1 Jordan Poffenberger, 18,  proved he excels at slalom as well as freestyle and finished in 2nd place.

In men’s C-2, Michael Rudnitsky and Elliot Betrand qualified for the team with solid performances.

Honorable mentions goes to 14 year old Eliza Malakoff (K-1W)and Elliot Bertrand (C-1), who each finished less than one touch away from qualifying for the team over two days of racing.
